MALAYSIAN VISA FOR INDIANS

Indian citizens do not need a visa to enter Malaysia for short stays (up to 30 days) for tourism, business, or transit, provided they have a passport valid for at least six months, a valid return/onward ticket, sufficient funds, and accommodation. All visitors must also complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) [1] online before arrival. This visa waiver scheme is valid for Indian passport holders from December 1, 2023, to December 31, 2026.

Key Requirements for Visa-Free Entry:

  • Return/Onward Ticket: You need proof of a confirmed return or onward flight ticket from Malaysia.
  • Sufficient Funds: You must have enough money to cover your expenses during your stay.
  • Proof of Accommodation: You need to show verifiable proof of your accommodation in Malaysia.
  • Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) [4]: Before entering Malaysia, you are required to complete this online registration form. You can register at imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main.
  • Valid Passport: Your passport must have at least six months of validity from your arrival date.

Important Considerations:

  • Purpose of Visit:

The 30-day visa-free entry is strictly for tourism, business, and transit, and is not for employment.

  • Fraudulent Agents:

Be cautious of agents misleading you about employment opportunities under this scheme.

  • Stay Duration:

If you plan to stay in Malaysia for more than 30 days, or for purposes other than tourism, business, or transit, you will need a different type of visa, such as an eVISA.
